Hart County is located in southcentral Kentucky and lies predominately within the central portion of the Pennyroyal region of the state, but also includes a small section of the Western Coal Field region. The county has an area of 267,424 acres. Its topography ranges from nearly level river bottoms to gently rolling hillsides to steep knobs and hidden hollows. Nolin River and Lake form the western boundary of the county, while beautiful Green River winds through the center, east to west in a series of loops and bends to offer fun and relaxation. This diverse landscape makes Hart County well suited for a wide range of agriculturally-based enterprises and outdoor adventure businesses.
