Mason County School System: is a consolidated school serving all of Mason County. The campus is split in two locations. One campus houses Straub Elementary School (grades preschool through 2), Mason County Middle School (grades 6-8) and Mason County High School (grades 9-12). The second campus is home to Mason County Intermediate School (grades 3-5). Both campuses are served by the Mason County Youth Service Center and Mason County Resource Center, agencies that help students of all ages and their families prepare and succeed in their education.

The Mason County STEAM Academy, School of Innovation, is a satellite of Mason County High School. Between both locations, STEM offerings include Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, Biomedical, and Technology. Additionally, the STEAM academy houses our thriving agriculture program with courses in animal science, botany/horticulture , and mechanics. In all, about 300 students spend a portion of their day at the STEAM academy which also houses one of Kentucky’s only high school indoor tracks.

Community Colleges

Maysville Community and Technical College is a two year college that has been serving the region since 1968. As part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, MCTC provides education and training close to where people live and work. MCTC offers the region's residents the opportunity to complete certificate, diploma, and associate degree programs by: Student success is MCTC’s number one priority and we will work to create the best possible opportunities in postsecondary education for you!

Maysville Community and Technical College is located in rural Kentucky and consists of 4 campuses: Licking Valley (Harrison County), Maysville (Mason County), Morehead (Rowan County) and Mt. Sterling (Montgomery County). The service area includes 19 counties; 17 in Kentucky and 2 in southern Ohio. For many students, MCTC is the closest college within 50 miles.

Workforce Solutions 
At Maysville Community & Technical College is a comprehensive approach to workforce training by delivering programs and services that address the unique needs of business and industry, as well as programs for individuals who want to improve their employability, or enjoy a personal enrichment class
What they do:
  • Help businesses maintain their competitive edge by providing customized workforce training on-site or in the classroom.  Training is affordable, accessible and quality-driven
  • Offer fun and interest community education classes to encourage lifelong learning at any age
  • Work one-on-one with individuals to help them get started in short-term, flexible career programs.  Our innovative Credit for Prior Learning allows qualified students to earn up to 20 credit hours for on-the-job experiences
  • Provide workplace assessments for business and industry as well as individuals.  Assessments range from nationally recognized certifications to specific state licenses required in Kentucky.
  • Provide assistance to entrepreneurs to help them make informed business decisions when planning to open a new business, purchase an existing business or expand an established business through the Maysville Regional Entrepreneurial Center.
