Located only 15 miles outside of town you will find the historic Rohs Opera House. Opened in 1941, the Rohs Opera House offers a host of events every month with something for everyone. If you're looking for something a little more Americana, one of the States last operating drive in movie theaters, The Bourbon County Drive-In, is located a mere 14 miles from downtown Carlisle.


Downtown Carlisle is home of the Kentucky Doll and Toy Museum. A unique museum that highlights the dolls and toys and their evolution through the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries so visitors can gain a perspective on what life was like in these eras. A nostalgic trip for the adults and a window into the past for children; the Kentucky Doll and Toy Museum is surely one of a kind.


Located in beautiful down town Carlisle, Gallery Z is a place for local artists to showcase their work. Including everything from paintings, to custom knife making; Gallery Z provides local artists the chance to share what they love.

Events and Festivals

Carlisle is home of the historic Blackberry Festival, one of the longest running festivals in Kentucky! Each year the community gathers the week of July 4th to celebrate our Nation;s Freedom with music, dancing, food, and entertainment for all ages.
