Community Education

Hillsboro's Public Library is located at 118 South Waco Street, the location of the old post office. Since moving into the "old post office" the library has grown in every aspect of services, equipment, and systems. Its use by children and adults has increased substantially each year, thanks to a continually growing budget funded by the city as well as library-sponsored fund-raisers.

Hillsboro ISD: The rural community of Hillsboro, Texas has a rich and diverse history. Hillsboro proudly claims the honor of being home to Texas’ first PTA chapter, as well as the hometown of one of Texas’ most illustrious leaders, Bob Bullock. HISD, from its humble beginnings in 1853 when it served 160 children at one small school, has grown to 4-A status and provides a first-rate education to over 2,000 students on five campuses.
