Theater

Jenny Wiley Theatre is eastern Kentucky’s only professional theatre offering year round productions at the Jenny Wiley Amphitheatre and venues throughout the region. The new theatre is a 220-seat flexible-space that can be used for performances and other events.  A small studio theatre has already opened in Pikeville, with seating for 100.

ACT Theatre is located in the beautiful Appalachian mountains of Eastern Kentucky. It is in Elkhorn City, the gateway community to the Breaks Interstate Park. The first production was an amazing production of The Kentucky Cycle, July 2002. ACT built its company focusing on quality with local talent. ACT was awarded Coal Severance Tax funds to build a $400,000.00 black box theatre. In 2008, the facility opened to feature year round, balanced season of six productions per year, sixteen performances per production, free educational program serving over fifty children per semester, along with educational outreach. It is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.! Artists Collaborative Theatre is the most awarded community theatre in Kentucky, winning state, regional, and national awards.

Dance

The University of Pikeville Community Education Dance Program offers classes in ballet, pre-ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and creative movement. Classes are offered during the fall, spring and summer semesters. Creative Movement classes, for three- and four-year-olds, meet one-half hour per week. Beginners’ classes in ballet, tap and jazz are offered for ages five through adult. These classes meet for 45 minutes per week, for five- and six-year-olds, and one hour per week for ages seven through adult. We offer more advanced classes for ages eight through adult. Students are assigned to classes based on age and experience.  A special class, for boys ages seven through young teen, focuses on flexibility, strength, balance and stamina, and is aimed at boys who want to improve their athletic abilities.Costs are $100 per semester for half-hour classes, $125 per semester for 45-minute classes, $150 per semester for one-hour, once-a-week classes and $200 per semester for classes that meet twice a week.  All dance classes are held on the University of Pikeville campus in the Ridenour Dance Studio, located on the second floor of the Record Memorial building. Music

Main St. Live
Main Street Live! is a stage designated to showcasing local talent. Free admission and Wi-Fi access add to the experience. Dine on local fare using the café-style furniture. Menus are located on each table for restaurants that deliver. The stage is located on Main Street on the plaza in front the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center.

Hatfield-McCoy Heritage Days
 

The famous feud is over; now let the fun begin with a carnival that is loads of fun for the whole family. The Hatfield-McCoy Heritage Days Festival is held on Labor Day Weekend and promises to be better than ever. Come and celebrate the end of the feud in Downtown Pikeville. 

Hillbilly Days


For nearly 40 years, people come from all over the world to visit Hillbilly Days. Come enjoy the festivities and craziness of Hillbilly Days and bring the family! There’s something for everyone and with hundreds of food booths, craft booths, huge carnival, music, and more you’ll be glad you visited Pikeville. Hillbilly Days has been recognized by the Kentucky Tourism Industry Association as a Top 10 Kentucky Festival and is currently the second largest festival in Kentucky. 

Eastern Kentucky Expo Center

The Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center is Eastern Kentucky’s center for culture, education and entertainment. The Expo Center is the premier venue for entertainment and conferences and is located in the heart of downtown Pikeville. A 7,000 seat arena over 126,000 sq. feet in size that consists of an event level, main concourses, upper level, concession stands, boardrooms, and more.
