Healthcare Facilities

Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) is a 261-bed facility that has been dedicated to providing quality care in Kentucky for 89 years. The organization offers more than 400 services, including every major specialty and most subspecialties, and is a proud member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network. PMC has completed a $150 million expansion, adding an 11-story clinic and a 10-story parking garage to its main campus. The new clinic will house office and clinical space for outpatient surgery, as well as exam rooms for primary and specialty care physicians. The enclosed parking garage has spaces for 1,162 cars. The hospital has nearly 2,400 employees and 350 credentialed providers, all focused on providing top-quality patient care. With a progressive, supportive administration and board of directors, our employees and physicians have the tools and training they need to provide excellent quality health care. Technology, innovation, vision and finance are rapidly driving Pikeville Medical Center towards its goal of being a National Leader in Health Care. Workforce Programs

Big Sandy Community and Technical School offers Workplace Solutions. The Office of Workforce Solutions delivers customized business and industry training for employers throughout Eastern Kentucky. Our certified instructors will provide onsite training at any location as well as any campus facility. Workforce Solutions offers short term courses on bank teller training, phlebotomy, certified nurse aid, pharmacy technician, surface and underground mine certification/recertification, basic and advanced Microsoft Office computer skills, leadership and supervisory training.

Water Sources

The final source water assessment has been completed by the Big Sandy Area Development District and is available for inspection at their office, the Pike County Judge’s office, and the Pikeville/Pike County public library.
