With close proximity to both Erie, PA and Buffalo, NY, Chautauqua County is centrally located between endless colleges and universities. In addition, Chautauqua County is also home to SUNY Fredonia, Jamestown Business College, and Jamestown Community College.

SUNY Fredonia has strong programs and experiences in the sciences, business, education, arts, humanities, undergraduate research, interdisciplinary studies, and athletics -- all designed to help you grow and discover your interests and talents. Fredonia offers you a complete college experience -- a "destination university" in a creative environment that is diverse, welcoming, and safe. With 78 Undergraduate Programs, 19 Graduate Programs, and 5 Graduate Certificates there is something for most everyone.

SUNY Fredonia also is in charge of the Technology Incubator in Dunkirk. "The Fredonia Technology Incubator promotes economic growth by supporting entrepreneurship and the development of new, innovative companies into successful business ventures," as well as being a StartUp New York designated space.



Jamestown Business College is an institution located in Jamestown, New York. The college offers business-focused certificate, associate, and bachelor degree programs, along with specialized training in business etiquette. Students may take classes in a day or evening/weekend format. Some students may complete an associate degree in 18 months and a bachelor degree in an additional 21 months. Jamestown Business College offers career development services to all alumni and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Community Colleges


Jamestown Community College holds an enrollment of approximately 3,500 students across its two campuses, extensions, and online. JCC was hailed in a report by the Chronicle of Higher Education as being the "Top Performing Two-Year College in New York" in 2012. With a catalog of several diverse programs, JCC offers the potential to enrich the county's needs for industries and employers.
 
JCC is a comprehensive, regional, open access, student-centered institution that embraces academic excellence and meets the service area's learning needs in diverse ways. JCC programming includes liberal arts transfer degree programs, career programs, community service, developmental education, and business and industry training. The college's partnership with the greater community contributes to the social and intellectual improvement, economic development, and cultural enrichment of western New York and northwestern Pennsylvania.
