Personal Health & Wellness

The Fulton County Public Health Department, under the direction of the Fulton County Board of Supervisors and the New York State Department of Health, seeks to promote wellness, to protect from disease, to prevent injury/disability, to prepare for emerging illness/disease and to assist Fulton County residents in attaining and maintaining optimal health.
Each person and/or their family will be educated in accessing health care and will be empowered to be responsible for the decisions regarding their health care needs.

Many services offered by FCPH are provided free of charge; others have eligibility criteria and sliding fee scales are available for the uninsured.

Nathan Littauer is a place where health care innovations happen. It is a place where care and concern are met with clinical excellence. Our patients call it their medical home.

Designed with the focus on mother, baby and family, our Birthing Center offers the comfort, safety, amenities and privacy of home.

We have added the Renaissance Robotic Spine System to our line-up of advanced, minimally invasive surgical programs with Dr. Jian Shen. For our patients, this means less pain and fewer scars, with a faster recovery and return to daily activities.

They are with us. Ear, Nose and Throat and sleep specialist Dr. Paddock and Nurse Practitioner, Amy Hall, have joined joined Nathan Littauer in a NEW location - 182 Steele Avenue (lower level) in Gloversville.

Wow! Littauer has added the latest MRI technology to their main campus.
A new suite was constructed to house the Optima MR450w with GEM, the latest in an advanced system from GE Healthcare. The system is designed to help maximize patient comfort while delivering uncompromised image quality. In addition, our fully-digital Diagnostic Imaging Department offers new advances in equipment and technology. Beyond our routine X-ray services which are available 24 hours a day, our highly experienced Technologists assist with many diagnostic exams

The Environmental Health Services Department works to ensure that the air we breathe, the water we drink and use and the food we consume are free of contamination and harm.
Environmental Health Services coordinates and oversees the programs and regulations that prevent illness, disability and death from human interaction with the environment. We investigate and respond to health emergencies including those that may be of a chemical or biological nature and pose a risk to the citizens of Fulton County.

The staff of our Environmental Health Services especially works to safeguard the health of populations that may be vulnerable to environmental hazards—children, the elderly and those with disabilities. We serve the public from three district offices.
