Allegany County is nestled in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains and offers a relaxed, unhurried way of life to it's residents with a full menu of seasonal activities to choose from.

Our People

Because Allegany County has three different academic institutions we are able to produce a skilled workforce for any business that locates here. There are over 1,600 graduates annually with degrees and training in skilled trades, business, finance, design, R&D, and engineering.

Allegany County also offers a great one stop Employment & Training Center with services that include on-the-job training, skills testing in reading and math, screening and matching potential applicants to job listings, and funding to pay for training in high demand occupations.

Programs and Incentives

We quickly provide introductions to government, business and educational leaders at the highest levels; fully assist in the site selection process; and provide appropriate financial incentives.

Some of those include:

- Taxable and tax-exempt bond financing

- Sales tax forgiveness on material and equipment used for manufacturing

- Payment in lieu of taxes agreements (PILOTs) for reducing property taxes

- Exemptions of the mortgage recording tax fees
