There is always something to do in Allegany County. Interested in a theatre production? Visit the Orvis Activities Center or the Cappadonia Auditorium at the Alfred State College Campus, the new Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex at Houghton, or one of the Alfred University performing arts centers.

Want to go see a movie? The Grand Theater in Wellsville offers first run showings of the latest movies. Or the Nancy Howe Auditorium in Wellsville offers showing of popular movies from the past periodically.

Is it time to visit a museum? Take tribute to local history and visit one of several museums within the County. Dyke Museum in Wellsville, Pioneer Oil Museum in Bolivar, or the Schein-Joseph Ceramic Museum in Alfred are great starts!

Ready for some sports? Most of our communities are great supporters of spring, summer and fall sports for intermediate and secondary school students. We also support two baseball teams that are in the New York Collegiate Baseball League, and three colleges with sports teams at the NCAA Division III level.

Local libraries and schools are always putting together family friendly events through out the year, as well as the local skating rink, bowling alleys and clubs.

• Wellsville has a great skating rink called Funland Skate Center that has been around for generations and has always been a hit for family fun!
• Bowl-M-Over Lanes hosts several adult bowling leagues, a children's league on Saturday mornings and various open bowling hours.
• The YMCA has several before and afterschool programs throughout the County school system and hosts family friendly events all the time.
