Welcome to the Mercer County Statebook. We are glad you are here. Our Statebook page is a collaboration of the Mercer Chamber of Commerce and the Harrodsburg/Mercer County Industrial Development Authority (HMCIDA).

Mission Statement

The mission of the Mercer County Chamber of Commerce is to provide leadership, support and education necessary for economic stability and growth through involvement in business, government, and community activities.
The mission of the HMCIDA is to support existing industry, promote new industry investment, improve and expand the workforce and strengthen relationships between the community, education and industry.

EDO History and Background

Harrodsburg, then Harrodstown, was the first settlement west of the Allegheny Mountains. This town has lots to offer residents as well as visiting tourist! Harrodsburg is home to Fort Harrod State Park which is conveniently located on College Street. The fort includes a replica of the original fort as well as the log cabin where President Lincoln's parents were married. 

Services and Programs

The Mercer County Chamber of Commerce has over 290 members. The Chamber is committed to building a strong local economy, strengthening, enhancing and protecting business. The Mercer County Chamber of Commerce has been influencing public policy on behalf of the business community, helping Central Kentucky become a thriving and dynamic marketplace of opportunities.

Membership is open to businesses that maintain an annual dues investment. Benefits of membership include networking opportunities, community involvement, image enhancement, political advocacy, information access, numerous discounts and benefits and heightened credibility.

From advertising to continuing education, networking events and seminars to discounts on office supplies and even from other members, the Chamber offers a variety of ways to build your business. 
Government Advocacy:
The Chamber takes care of politics so you can take care of your business. We are a respected voice when it comes to protecting and promoting free enterprise and minimizing government interference and taxation

Workforce Development:
Both the Chamber and Industrial Authority assist in developing our local workforce!

HMCIDA fufills its responsibilities by being a liason between industry, the community, educational entities and the state government. HMCIDA maintains a close relationship with all stakeholders in the process of workforce development and industry investment and expansion. A large component of our work is providing communication services between industry and state/federal government.

EDO Partners

The Mercer Chamber partners with Campbellsville University, Trailblazer Academy and the Mercer Adult Education group to provide certificates and higher education in the community.

Career Opportunities

The Mercer Chamber has high school and summer internships and volunteer opportunities for a variety of positions. We often obtain interns to work with partner agencies.

Organization Structure

The Chamber of Commerce is composed of a Board of Directors, Committee Workers, and Officers who serve voluntarily.

HMCIDA is funded by the city/county government and governed by a Board of Directors who are appointed by the City and County. The City Mayor and the County Judge Executive serves as official members of the HMCIDA Board.
